|
Based in Location: Cumbria/Knutsford, our client is one of the leading providers of technical consultancy, engineering services and programme and asset management to the nuclear industry. Our experience spans several decades in the UK, Canada, United States, South Africa, Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Their nuclear business understands its customer requirements and works in partnership to achieve best value. The business has more than 50 years’ experience in the civil and defence nuclear industry.
Overview of Role....... Provision of safety case support to a range of clients, often within the defence industry. Using probabilistic and deterministic means to substantiate the safety of operations through life. Typically, the safety case engineering tasks to be performed involve MoD facilities, the UK submarine fleet and civil nuclear power stations.
Key Responsibilities....... To represent the company in a professional manner at all times. Ability to work at client''s premises (as required) under the direction and control of the client.
Essential Qualifications....... Scientific or engineering degree
Desirable Qualifications...... 2:1 in a scientific or engineering degree (or higher) qualified. Chartered status within a recognised scientific/engineering institution.
Experience Required...... 2+ years experience of safety case authorship within a defence, aerospace or process industry environment. Knowledge of PCSR/POSR and QPSA techniques would be an advantage as would knowledge of JSP 518 and JSP 430. Prior experience of submarine safety cases and submarine systems would be of interest. Experience of Modern Standards Safety Case methods within a conventional safety and/or nuclear safety case environment would also be of interest.
